I Think I’ll Take A Walk Today
A Children’s Poem
I think I’ll take a walk today
My mother hasn’t time to play
My father’s stacking bales of hay
My sister’s learning to crochet
I think I’ll take a walk today
I’ll walk along a winding trail
And put some berries in my pail
I’ll spot a bouncing bunny tail
Bend down to greet a tiny snail
I’ll walk along a winding trail
I’ll find a spot beside the creek
To kick off shoes and dip my feet
I’ll find a rock that is unique
And tadpoles playing hide and seek
I’ll find a spot beside the creek
I’ll climb up to the very top
And grip and grab a helpful rock
I’ll move my legs and I won’t stop
Until I fall down with a flop
I’ll climb up to the very top
I think I’ll start to head back home
I feared it’d be a boring roam
That I’d hate walking on my own
Guess I can have some fun alone
I think I’ll start to head back home
My mom waits on the porch for me
She shades her eyes so she can see
As I appear around a tree
She’s glad I didn’t skin my knee
My mom waits on the porch for me
I’m glad I took a walk today
I’m proud I found some ways to play
And met some friends along the way
Now dinner’s on my plate – hooray!
I’m glad I took a walk today
